One Day

Because it's single awareness month I would like to share this poem (because you have no choice. Ha!) I made out of a whim to release creative outlet, not so long time ago. This is probably a reflection of my being a bookworm. Yes, I've read them all, that's why at times I'm so corny and cheezy (Yikes!). Fictional men are so romantic! They are setting the bar for unrealistic standards, so I made this poem made of unrealistic love stories. Still crossing my fingers my The One is not as arrogant as Darcy, as hopeless romantic to the point of miscommunication (my subtle way of saying stupidity) as Romeo, on the verge of mercy killing like Will or most importantly doesn't have a sex dungeon hidden somewhere in his house like Christian. That would definitely have me sell my possessions, change my name, and start a new life in a country I can't even pronounce. Hahaha!

One day someone will sweep me off my feet,
Like Darcy loved Elizabeth
One day someone will stare into my eyes with so much adoration,
Like Romeo loved Juliet

One day someone will fight for me,
Like Peeta loved Katniss
One day someone will put a spell on me and I to him,
Like Ron loved Hermione

One day someone will show me places I've never been,
Like Christian loved Ana
One day someone will wait for me, even if I don't get there,
Like Noah loved Allie

One day someone will teach me how to fly,
Like Will loved Louisa
One day someone will treasure me even for a borrowed time,
Like Augustus loved Hazel Grace

The greatest love I've ever read will come to life,
I will be his and he will be mine
Right now I will wait, with a book in my hand,
One day, someday

Benefit's Fake Up and Puff Off!

I know every girl can relate to this!

Do you ever wake up and look your self in the mirror first thing in the morning and feel like there's a huuuuge puff on your under-eyes and tried every possible measure to minimize it. And it's just so stubborn that won't go anywhere and you're just so annoyed, like Ugggghhhhhh!!!

Well good thing Benefit can make miracles!

Benefit's Puff Off
My brow lady from Benefit Brow Bar told me to try this out and she dab a small amount of it on my puffy under-eye and glide it all over. You can definitely feel the result instantly! It feels cool and soft, and it brightens out the face. Which is amazing if you're having a bad eye day!

Iron tip applicator
Puff Off work best with a very hydrating concealer, Fake Up! I'm not even a big fan of concealers but I think this work best for me since it's not heavy and cakey, at the same time moisturizes my under-eye. And I am not also fond of too made up make-up look. I like to keep things au naturel, dewy and lightweight. So these two are a must-have for me.

Benefit's Fake Up concealer
So if you ever feel like you're having a bad eye day (let's face it, hair is not the only one whose having a bad day, there's also a bad skin day!) try Fake Up and Puff Off for an instant eye pick-me-upper!

The Paul to Our Toni (True Love Waits Exist!)

“Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; But a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” - PROVERBS 31:30

Is it so wrong that I cried buckets of tears (as if I’m the one being proposed to) while watching Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano’s interview on The Buzz? I know for sure every girl, woman and woman at heart did!

We all want to find THE ONE. The true love, the best friend and the biggest crush rolled into one. Sometimes we get so atat (in a hurry) and we say yes to the wrong ones (In my case, and in defense to my “pasts”, the timing was just not right, they’re not evil or anything haha!).

Timing is crucial. In their case, they are both accomplished in their own field. Both of them are secured. And they enjoyed their singlehood - which I think is important, before getting into any relationship or marriage. And the most vital of all … They put God in the center of their relationship.

I must admit I had an experimental stage where I just date men and tried to enjoy it, and I found myself losing respect for myself (not that I’m saying dating is wrong, I believe I dated, for the sake of dating). It didn’t last long, as expected. I dated for the wrong reasons. It felt like cold water running down on me; a wake-up call. This is not me, or my values and principles. No matter how hard I try to be a Miley Cyrus to adapt to changing environment, I will always be a Nikki Gil, Iya Villania, Alex and Toni Gonzaga (let me explain, wag magreact agad alam kong di ko sila kamukha … I mean in values and mindset lang naman.) I now believe, it is important to better ourselves first before finding The One. Even if you found The One, and you haven’t found yourself, it still won’t come to fruition. See, it all boils down to timing. God’s timing.

THE ANATOMY OF A TONI

She knows what she wants and she go and get it
She won’t be Toni Gonzaga if she didn’t work hard for it. Women with goals are unstoppable.

She puts her family first
I think, if I am a man looking for a woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, I want someone who loves her family. Because we are going to start a family and build a home full of love and there is no better training ground for that than your own family.

She honors her parents
She follows her parents’ rules. I love that little conversation she had with her dad, “You’re so strict, no one will ever court me again.” But her dad simply said, “If a man really likes you, he will wait.”. Indeed, true love waits.

THE ANATOMY OF A PAUL

He respects Toni
I think when a man respects you, your values and beliefs, your family and God. He’s definitely a keeper for life.

He honors Toni’s parents
He has a choice whether or not to respect her parent’s wishes, but he still did for 7 1/2 years. You can tell he really loved Toni because of the respect and patience he put into their relationship.

“The fact that I asked her to marry me, means I can provide for her for the rest of her life.”
I think this is the part where I cried like a baby that just got out of her mother’s womb. At this early stage, he assured Toni that he is already a good provider. And I cried so much when he said  that money is never an issue, because we all know that Toni earns 10x more than he did and she can give all her savings to her parents as a gift. He added that Toni is a simple woman and he can definitely provide for her.

THE ANATOMY OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP

They put God at the center of their relationship
I cannot speak for their relationship (because I’m not part of it hahaha) but one thing is palpable - God is in the center of it. 7 1/2 years is hard, but with God everything is easy.

Both of them set the bar for relationships. That love shouldn't be hurried and that true love waits. That as a woman you should never lose grip of your values and self-respect. And when finding a man, wait for the man that will honor you, your family and God.

Watching this interview sparked my hope for love. Na may lalaki pa pala talaga na maghihintay para sayo kung kelan ka magiging handa at hindi ipipilit young gusto lang nya pero iintindihin din yung mararamdaman ng mga taong nakapaligid at nagmamahal sayo. Kaya wait tayo, dahil true love waits ... because love is patient.
